ABOUT ME
My Journey
Outside of Work
From being a process engineer to now a product designer, I’ve always use my strengths in data analysis and problem solving to look into optimization.
I'm currently a product designer at American Express based in New York.
Prior to that, I actually was a process engineer at Collins Aerospace and Northrop Grumman (feels like a lifetime ago) where I made circuit boards. It didn't take too long to realize that was not my passion! I had always enjoy the hardware design of my job but wanted to transfer my skills into software. That’s when I discovered UX. It was interesting, different and challenging which I love.
What keeps me excited to go to work everyday is the multitude of problems I get to think through and solve, the different perspectives and intense design discussions I have. And knowing nothing is perfect; that there is a feedback loop of data and research which I can nerd out on!
I’m kinda a hobbyist where I love learning new hobbies. Things I’ve tried include whittling, embroidering, crocheting, acrylic and watercolor painting. Currently going pretty strong on a knitting streak though!
I also love staying active and being outdoors. I’m a casual runner, volleyball and tennis player. Am I good at any of those? No but I will absolutely have a good time! When I’m not playing a sport, I’m going on hikes with my dog or bundling up with her and icecream on the couch.
